The world’s leading food & beverage trade fair
Cologne, October 4-8, 2025 – The Protection Consortia for Olio di Roma PGI and Sabina PDO brought the olive oil excellence of Lazio to Anuga 2025, the most important international trade fair dedicated to the food and beverage sector, held in Cologne (Germany) at the Koelnmesse exhibition center.
With over 8,000 exhibitors from 110 countries and more than 145,000 trade visitors from over 190 nations, Anuga confirms its position as the world’s leading meeting point for the entire agri-food chain. An exceptional stage, divided into ten trade shows, where buyers, distributors, and industry operators were able to get a first-hand look at the excellence of the Lazio region.
Present at the event were Olio di Roma PGI and Sabina PDO, two extra virgin olive oils that tell of a unique identity-defining bond with the territory of the Capital and the millennial olive growing tradition of Lazio. Olio di Roma PGI, recognized by the European Union in 2021, is produced according to strict production regulations that enhance native cultivars such as Itrana, Carboncella, Leccino, and Moraiolo, resulting in a product with intense fruitiness and distinct vegetable notes.
Participation in Anuga represented a strategic opportunity to present the certified quality of the two denominations to international buyers, in a context where authenticity, traceability, and sustainability are increasingly demanded by the global market. A further step in the process of internationalization and promotion of ‘Made in Lazio’ throughout the world.
